Get the look: Purple lips

I've had my eye on this lipstick for quite some time now so a few days ago I finally walked into Inglot and bought it. It's a bold color but it's not as dominant as I thought it would be. I was a little bit scared to try it on because I've never worn a color like that on my lips. But, as soon as I did there was no turning back. It was obvious that this would be my summer lipstick.

Last night my friend threw a going away party and it was the perfect opportunity to dedicate it. I wore a simple outfit with it, considering it's intensity. A simple black crop top and a pair of white, highwasted jeans. I finished the look by adding a big necklace. I was really pleased with the outcome.

So the point of this post was not to babble but to show you guys how you can get the same look. The secret to rocking bold lipstick is really simple; just keep your eye make-up minimal. Use little if any eyeliner and neutral eyeshadow. Well, I think this will all be easier if I just give you a step by step tutorial:

1. BB cream.
Garnier BB cream, shade: light

I've talked about this one before and I still stand by my positive review. This cream is an almost perfect BB cream and I don't think I'll use anything else this summer.

2. Powder.

Creme puff by Max Factor, shade: 05

This was not the powder I used for my look because it's nearly finished but I wanted to put it here anyway because it's cheap and still really good. It gives the BB cream a near flawless finish. The powder I used is from Body Shop and I don't think it works as well over BB cream.

3. Bronzing powder.

Bronzing powder by Guerlan

I really like this bronzing powder because it's a little bit shimmery. I actually forgot about it for quite some time but I found it again a few weeks ago. I have no idea where I bought it because it's quite old but it works really well anyway!

4. Eyebrows.

For my eyebrows I used eyeshadow and I applied it to my brows with the Real Techiniques Brow Brush. The eyeshadow I used was from my GOSH Eyeshadow pallet.

5. Eyeshadow.

This time I used my Sephora pallet and I used two shades, a gold one and a brown and shimmery one for shading and defining. And of course I used my Real Techinques starter kit.

6. Eyeliner.

Eyeliner by Maybelline

I used my Black gold eyeliner by Maybelline. I don't have good things to say about this one because it can make my eyelids pretty oily. But there's an answer to that problem; Eyeshadow primer! (Which I haven't gotten around to buy)

7. Mascara.

I think this mascara is great because it's really cheap but really good at the same time. I haven't heard good things about mascaras from Max Factor but this one works really well for me.

8. Lipstick.

Lipstick by Inglot, nr. 422

You've already read about this lipstick at the top of the post but believe it or not I still have some things to say about it. First of all, it's really matte and it's really, really dry if you put it one by itself. So when I use it I usually put some lip butter or just anything to make it less dry. Although it's really important not to put too much because then it will fade away quickly. The second thing is a positive thing. I find the quality of this lipstick fantastic and it stays on your lips for a whole night of laughing with friends. It is for sure my favorite lipstick!

Here is my finished look:

Punk hugs,
Maria
