Topshop and Vagabond Haul!

July is always a bad time for my wallet but a great time for my wardrobe. It's the month of sales here in Iceland and you can't turn on the radio without someone telling you so. I had made a pointless promise to myself to not buy anything this month and save my money but obviously that didn't work. I wouldn't be making this post if it had.
Sooo, the temptation got the best of my and I made my way to the mall. And I walked into Topshop. And I walked out with a bag. I bought a black and gorgeous maxi skirt, a denim dress and a new wallet. It wasn't too expensive so I was able to forgive myself for my sin. Then I walked into a shoe store and walked out with a bag. It looked like I'd bought myself some Vagabonds. But when do you own too many Vagabonds? I highly doubt you ever do. To celebrate this accidental shopping spree I decided to do a blogpost. Like usual I took some photos (inside because the weather here sucks) and you can check them out below. I am in love with everything I've bought and to be honest I haven't taken off the dress since I got home. Sacrifices have to be made if you're supposed to call yourself a fashion blogger, at least a few money sacrifices. Hopefully I won't start killing goats or anything like that..

March favorites

Due to the fact that it was my birthday two weeks ago my room seems to be packed with new stuff.
New clothes, new books and new music so it seemed only right to do a March favorites post.

The day after my birthday I went with my mom and sister to get a late birthday present. I had already gotten a curling iron but my mom insisted on finding something more. So we went thrifting, of course. I found lots of stuff this time and I ended up buying two more sheer shirts, two high waisted jeans, two knit sweaters and these pants above. I adore everything I bought and I feel super happy with the items. I especially love the three items above. The pants are so comfortable and I love the Clueless vibe they give off.

This one was a birthday present from my best friend. She knows how obsessed with Sherlock Holmes I am so this was the perfect gift for me. As you can see it says The essential mysteries in one sitting. That means I can read all the Sherlock mysteries in ten minutes or so. Perfect.

This was also a gift from another best friend of mine. It's a 5-year journal where I write down answers to questions everyday for five years and as the years go by I can keep track on how I've changed over the years. I am obsessed and so far I haven't missed a day! Yay me!

I don't think this one needs any caption at all. Again, this was a birthday present from yet another best friend. She shares my love for literature and old stuff. These poems are so beautiful and Sylvia Plath is my favorite. It's so incredible that she was one of the very first female poets and an inspiration to all the poets that followed her footsteps.

This one I got from my friend who bought me the mini Sherlock stories. I'd never read it before and was dying to do so. I had been babbling about how I hadn't found the book with a pretty cover so she found it for me. She's the best. I started reading it immediately and it's so great. Perfectly written and I'm so in love. I am kind of happy I haven't read it before because now I can fully experience it.

This purse I bought for myself. I did it in a hurry, was buying birthday presents for my sister in Zara and was on my way home to study for a math exam. When I spotted this purse I was sure it was going home with me. I could just picture myself wearing my new yellow dress with this purse over the shoulder. It's also the perfect size, not too small and not too big.

That's all for my March favorites post. I wanted to do something different this time because I've been doing so many fashion show recaps. I have put those posts on hold for a bit and am only going to post my absolute favorites at the end of Fashion week, which is pretty soon so stay tuned!

Thriftshop treasures

One of my favorite things to do is going thrift shopping. It fascinates me that the clothes I'm buying have been worn by other people, they have a story. Sometimes I sit and wonder about their previous owners; if they really loved the thing or never even put it on; if they received it as a gift or bought it for a lot of money. This stuff can keep me up at night.
Last Friday I went thrift shopping and bought three items, an oversized, see through shirt. It's really big and it looks really good when it's not button upped and is just super casual with a pair of skinny jeans.
The second thing is a yellow dress, really short and there's a happy vibe that surrounds it (if that makes sense...) I love, love, love it and plan on wearing it A LOT this summer.
The last thing is a gorgeous hand knitted sweater. It's green/blueish and semi cropped. It looks super good with a skater skirt or skinny jeans. It's super comfortable and I'm in love with it.
I am very happy with the items I bought even though I had to leave an oversized jumper and a skirt behind. Oh well, our paths were not meant to cross.

Favorites - Spring'14 couture

Considering my obsession over the Spring Couture shows I decided to do an all-time favorites post. The first idea was to pick one look out of every collection but that turned out to be completely impossible... All though I was able to narrow it down to at least three looks I left a few astonishing ones out.
Anyway, enjoy my Favorites from the Spring'14 couture fashion shows!

Chanel Spring'14 Couture

It seems that Karl Lagerfeld is unable to get a bad idea. Every single thing about his couture collection was breathtaking and I loved how I could sense a hint of Coco in it. I was blown away by the makeup and hair and this collection was so much more than I expected. If you haven't seen it yet, it's without a doubt something you should check out. You can see my favorite looks below.
