Considering my obsession over the Spring Couture shows I decided to do an all-time favorites post. The first idea was to pick one look out of every collection but that turned out to be completely impossible... All though I was able to narrow it down to at least three looks I left a few astonishing ones out.

Kate Moss appreciation post

Can we talk about Kate Moss for a little bit? She is by far the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen. Big time lady crush alert. I mean, the woman is 40 years old for god's sake and she posed naked for Playboy and looked better than any twenty year old doing the same thing. Also, I can't get over the fact that she did coke at Nelson Mandela's house. She has lived so much!! She dated Johnny Depp (they are forever my OTP btw), she has walked for every fashion house you can think of, she had a baby and got married but still managed to stay fabulous, she designed a clothing line for Topshop and the list goes on. She is without a doubt one of the biggest super models to ever live.

I'm still sad about the fact that they did not get married. (cries)

Recent book purchases

A few weeks ago I discovered a small section in this book shop down town that sells fantastic classic for a very small prize. The past month I've bought myself five books; The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote, Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut, Sherlock Holmes the Novels (Volume two) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and The Complete Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.
I couldn't be happier with the books I bought, I've only gotten around to reading The Bell Jar and Breakfast at Tiffany's but I'm super excited to start reading the rest!

When I finished Breakfast at Tiffany's I was greeted by a funny surprise, there were three other short stories by Capote in the book. I read the first two, House of Flowers and Diamond Guitar, and they were both beautifully written and really influential. The third one is called Christmas Memory and I decided to save that one for next December (long shot maybe, I'm not the most patient person you'll meet and I will probably give up on saving it and read it in three days). Capote is a great writer and i think everyone is familiar with Audrey Hepburn's iconic performance in Breakfast at Tiffany's. If you haven't read the book I strongly recommend it, it really is as equally amazing as the movie.

I'm really looking forward to reading this one. The only book I've read by Kurt Vonnegut is Cat's Cradle and I really, really enjoyed that one. The sarcastic and black humor Vonnegut had completely swept me away. I've heard so many great things about this book and when I saw it in the store I knew I had to have it. When I finish reading Damned by Chuck Palahniuk this one will definitely be next on my list.

Sherlock Holmes. My beloved. 

For a long time now I've been wanting to read the Sherlock Holmes novels and after watching the third season of the television show were Benedict Cumberbatch is looking delicious I knew this Sherlock obsession was not going away any time soon. Even though this is the second volume of Sir Arthur's work I was so excited to find this book I didn't even hesitate. I don't care if I read the latter novels first, I just want to know more about Sherlock Holmes. 

This book I read first. It is so incredibly mesmerizing and you won't be able to put it down once you pick it up. I didn't really know what to expect when I started this book but whatever it was it definitely wasn't this. The deeper you get into this book the deeper you get into Syliva's head. As most people know this book is pretty much her life story and it is so incredible how she was able to capture her own insanity and depression and put it into words. No one will finish this book untouched.

I've never read a graphic novel before and it's definitely something i'm looking forward to do. I saw the movie they made out of this book and it was very memorable. I'm pretty sure this book will teach me a lot and I really can't wait to read it.

Atelier Versace Spring'14 Couture

Donatella's Couture collection blew me away this season. The colors carry a complete spring feeling with them and the dresses look so, so smooth. I love the way Donatella was able to mix up power and glamour in such an unexpected way. The colored fur coats are also absolutely perfect (of course, its Versace..) Chanel Spring'14 Couture

It seems that Karl Lagerfeld is unable to get a bad idea. Every single thing about his couture collection was breathtaking and I loved how I could sense a hint of Coco in it. I was blown away by the makeup and hair and this collection was so much more than I expected. If you haven't seen it yet, it's without a doubt something you should check out. Christian Dior Spring'14 Couture

I completely adore the new Dior line, it feels so light and modern and I would like to kiss Raf Simons on the cheek for giving me the pleasure of enjoying this collection. Everything looks so flawless and the shoes are absolutely mesmerizing.

This color is to die for.

Why fashion means so much to me.

 From third grade to ninth grade i was afraid to dress like me. I dressed like the crowd and i hid myself among the others. I don't know how many times i bought something i absolutely loved but i never left the house in it because I was afraid. I was afraid of judgement and I was afraid of bullies. I was completely hidden in the crowd. I remember so clearly standing in front of the mirror, wearing something I adored and then taking it off because I was scared they might think it was weird.
 When I was eight I told my best friend I had decided to become cool. That was the exact moment I stopped dressing for me and started dressing for others. I kept myself at the back of my mind for over seven years but silently adored and admired people that were brave enough to stand out. I tried everything humanly possible to fit in at the time, I was so shy that even wearing my hair a different way than a ponytail was way too scary for me. Literally.
 Clothes haven't always meant much for me. They used to be something distant, something that was always out of reach. But when I think about it, fashion has always been at the back of my mind. I've had opinions on outfits since I was twelve and I've always dreamed about being one of those pretty girls in a stunning, expensive outfit.
 This summer I really took time off to increase my confidence and focusing on who I wanted to be so when I got back to school this fall I was ready for changes. You can't imagine the feeling you get when you start dressing for yourself, like you've always dreamed of. For the first time in my life I could look in the mirror and actually like my outfit! It was literally life changing! It really hit me how fashion is such an important part of expressing ourselves and that's so important to me. I've always been shy but when I discovered fashion and how I could be a part of it, everything changed. Now I'm able to tell people who I am before they even talk to me. I am what I wear and I try my best to let my outfits reflect my personality. For example I tend to wear black when I'm tired, when I'm happy I put on a dress and when i'm sad you can find me hiding inside a huge sweater.
 Clothes are so important to me and I doubt people take me seriously when I tell them that but to be honest I don't really care. I'm not dressing myself for you. I'm dressing myself for my own pleasure and if I want to wear a fur coat to school I fucking will. I'm done with obsessing over other peoples opinions and I've started obsessing over the Spring'14 Couture collections but that's a post I'm saving for next week.
