December favorites.

Hi,
Today I decided to write about stuff I've been loving for the past month and will continue on obsessing over in December. In the beginning of November I flew to Glasgow for a winter shopping spree. I had been reading Vogue, imaginary online shopping and creating outfits in Polywore weeks before the trip so when I got there I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted to get. Even though I had planned and written down what I was going to buy I still found myself buying more skirts than jeans. That was not my intention but I ended up buying four skirts and only one pair of jeans. I was surprised to find out how ugly i found the jean trends, all of them had pointless patterns or were ripped at ridiculous places. The trousers I found pretty were all way too uncomfortable to wear. They were all too low in the waist or too tight around the ankles. This worried me a little bit because i thought that in winter it was way too cold to wear skirts. That was before I went to Primark and found myself a pair of knee high socks. Knee socks are my first obsession. I think they match every skirt I own perfectly and they keep my legs so, so warm. The socks are black and thick and they reach the top of my knee. I can wear them with skater skirts, my velvet shorts, dresses and my overalls. When I tried them on at the hotel I loved them so much that the next day I returned to Primark and bought myself another pair, this time in dark blue. These socks are so amazing I doubt I'll ever stop wearing them, and all they cost is 2.50 pounds.
My second obsession would have to be tartan patterns. Shopping in Glasgow was heavenly for a tartan lover because every store was filled with this lovely pattern. At a certain point all I wanted to buy was tartan dresses, trousers or skirts. I had to start ignoring them after a while because if I hadn't all I would have carried home in my bag would have been tartan patterned. What I ended up buying with the pattern was a skater skirt, shirt and a scarf. I bought the skirt in New Look and I am so deeply in love with it. It is the perfect length and its texture is amazing. Wearing it gives my confidence and I feel super hot in it. If I remember correctly it was only 17.99 pounds. The shirt i bought is from Primark and it is semi cropped. It has a black collar and the tartan pattern is red and black. It fits perfectly with my faux leather skirt and high waisted jeans or shorts. My only problem with it would have to be how hard it is to find a cardigan or jumper that fits with it. I think it was 7.99 pounds (obliviously, it's from Primark..). The last thing was the scarf and it is the coziest, warmest and softest scarf I've ever owned. It's also from Primark and it was only 5 pounds. I have not left the house without it since I bought it. It matches every outfit I put on and every jacket I own. It's white and so simple but it looks so gorgeous. It keeps my neck warm no matter how cold it is and I don't know what I would do if I would lose it.
My third November/December obsession is the book I bought from Urban Outfitters. It's called My Future Listography - All I Hope To Do In Lists and it's by Lisa Nola. In the book you can find multiple ideas of lists that you can fill out, like "Every city I want to live in" and "Careers I would like to have". When I found it I felt an intense urge to buy it. The thought behind the book is beautiful and it is set up in an amazing way. What I love most about it is the thought of writing down every crazy little thing I could possibly want to do with my life and finding it when I'm older. I can't wait to cross off the things I've done and plan the things I want to do and I truly believe I will do them someday.
These things are and will continue on being my top 3 favorite things. Of course I have more obsessions like my dark purple lipstick, my christmas jumper and my oversized Ryan Gosling tee but these things will have to wait until next time. I have been putting my math homework aside for way too long now and it's time to study.

Chicken nuggets and my favorite designers.

Hi,
My name is Maria and I'm a sixteen year old girl living in Iceland. I decided to create this blog today because I've been wanting to do it for quite some time now but I didn't take time out of my day to actually sit down in front of my laptop until now. This blog is supposed to be a fashion blog but I doubt I will make that my only subject.
To start things of I think it's only right to tell you a little bit about myself. Basically my name is Maria and I enjoy fashion and great music. I'm obsessed with Baz Luhrman (I have never watched Moulin Rouge without crying my eyes out..) and if I could eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be chicken nuggets. When I think about my future I picture myself in a big city (preferably Nyc or London but also Barcelona or Paris) working for a fashion magazine. I have two dogs, a German shepherd and a poodle, and they are the cutest little dogs in the world (I know everyone says that, but I swear mine are the cutest in the world).
These past months I've been developing a much bigger interest in fashion designers than before and i've discovered just how much I love fashion. I think there is something magical about the way clothes allow you to express yourself or even find yourself. Since I started to dress independently I grew closer to myself and I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. It's weird but you could say it's all thanks to clothes. Anyway, let's stop with the drama and start talking about fashion designers! I think my favorite designers really depend on the atmosphere of the season so I change my mind a lot. Today my favorites are Valentino, Alexander Wang, Raf Simons, Donatella Versace and Karl Lagerfeld. If you ask me in three months my answer will probably be completely different.
I'm very excited about seeing where this blog goes and I look forward to sharing my experience with strangers on the internet!
